Jollibee’s may appear to be a bright and colorful place filled with food, games, and cheerful characters, but once the doors close at night, the tone shifts dramatically. Taking place decades after the disturbing events that shut down Jolly’s Fantasy World, Jollibee’s: Phase 1 places players in the shoes of a night shift worker forced to monitor a seemingly innocent restaurant that hides a grim past. Players must rely on security cameras, lighting controls, and ventilation systems to survive against hostile animatronics possessed by unknown forces. The game sets up a disturbing narrative laced with mystery and suspicion as players are slowly introduced to each threat lurking in the dark.
Each animatronic operates under its own unique pattern and strategy, which players must learn and counteract as nights grow harder. Yum creeps through party halls and vents, requiring light to repel him. Twirlie approaches the office with deceptive silence and must be misled by switching off the lights. Hetty demands constant attention through a nearby window or she’ll sneak into the vents. Then there’s Popo, who cannot be illuminated and must be handled with patience and silence. And finally, Jollibee himself—his red eyes appear just before he strikes. Each encounter builds on the player’s stress and forces careful multitasking. The game is relentless but never unfair, rewarding players who adapt to the evolving threats with every night survived.
