Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 is an open-world racing game set in a large fictional version of Mexico. Players participate in the Horizon Festival, a massive racing event that includes road races, off-road competitions, stunt challenges, exploration activities, and multiplayer events. The game combines arcade-style driving with realistic vehicle handling, allowing players to drive hundreds of licensed cars across a wide variety of environments.

Exploring the Horizon Festival

The game begins with the player arriving at the Horizon Festival and gaining access to different regions of Mexico. As players complete races and challenges, they earn points that unlock new festival outposts, activities, and story missions. Progression allows access to additional racing categories such as street racing, dirt racing, cross-country events, and stunt challenges.

There is no traditional linear story campaign. Instead, the game uses Horizon Adventure and Horizon Story missions that introduce characters, locations, and special events. Players choose which activities to unlock first, allowing progression to develop in different ways depending on personal preferences.

Driving Across Mexico

The world contains deserts, jungles, beaches, cities, farmland, canyons, and an active volcano. Different environments affect driving conditions and encourage players to use different types of vehicles. Sports cars perform better on roads, while off-road vehicles are more effective on rough terrain.

Building a Collection and Progressing

Controls focus on acceleration, braking, steering, drifting, and vehicle management. Players can adjust difficulty settings, driving assists, and control schemes to create either a more realistic simulation experience or a more accessible arcade-style approach. Vehicle tuning also allows deeper customization of performance and handling.

Forza Horizon 5 is centered on freedom and progression. Instead of forcing players through a fixed sequence of races, the game allows exploration of the map and participation in activities at almost any pace.
