Accepting a job at a doll factory might have seemed like a straightforward way to make ends meet, but as you step into the dimly lit workshop, it quickly becomes apparent that this is no ordinary workplace. Tasked with inspecting dolls for defects, each shift spirals into an eerie vigil where the ordinary becomes the ominous. You examine each toy for anomalies ranging from minor imperfections to disturbing behaviors. The dolls, arrayed in neat rows, seem to watch as you work, their glassy eyes catching the flicker of overhead lights. This job is simple: ensure only the normal dolls pass inspection. But as the hours drag on, the sense of dread builds—what if not all these creations are as inert as they seem?

Tension Without Terror

Dollmare redefines horror, focusing on a creeping dread rather than shock scares. There are no monsters in pursuit, no sudden screams to pierce the silence, and no need to scavenge for resources in a frantic survival bid. Instead, the horror is psychological, born from the oppressive atmosphere of the factory and the growing suspicion that you are never truly alone. The quiet is unsettling, as every shift whispers that something is profoundly wrong. The developers, self-professed cowards when it comes to horror, have crafted a game that leverages subtlety and suspense to evoke fear. Each session subtly shifts, shaped by unscripted events that make every playthrough unpredictably unique.
